We have had great fun experimenting in Science learning all about our new topic ‘Forces and Magnets’.
Our experiment used film canisters, vitamin C tablets and water to create a mini-explosion in the classroom! The build up of pressure from the interaction of the water and the tablet means the atmosphere is different inside the film canister, causing the canister to POP away from it’s lid! Check out our slow motion video of it above!
We investigated how long the reaction took when we used different amounts of water.
We also had fun with Magdeburg spheres, when you put the two halves of the sphere together it creates a vacuum so strong it is nearly impossible to break the two halves apart – we were even able to attach them to the table and lift it up without the vacuum breaking!
