Welcome to the Federation of St Peter in Chains and St Gildas’ Catholic Infant and Junior Schools.
Welcome to the Federation of St Peter in Chains and St Gildas’ Catholic Infant and Junior Schools.
Situated in close proximity to the vibrant areas of Crouch End and Stroud Green, we are proud of our multicultural school community. Together, our pupils and staff represent 6 of the 7 continents of our world, something we celebrate in both our classroom and whole school activities.
As a Catholic School we promote respect and collaboration. Our school community includes children and families from a wide range of faiths and non-faith backgrounds. We enjoy learning about the beliefs, customs and traditions of many religions. We are fortunate to be located close to our parish church which allows for regular visits and close links with the wider community.
Our school offers a wide and rich curriculum that values experience based learning. We welcome a variety of external visitors and enjoy going out on curriculum related trips. This academic year we plan to increase the number of outings per term and also will continue to encourage participation in our many extra-curricular clubs. Children will also be able to participate in both intra school and inter school sporting events in addition to arts, dance and drama. We are also delighted to offer extended provision through daily breakfast and after school club.
In our school we recognise the unique gifts and experiences that each child and their families bring. We aim to embrace our differences and develop every individual academically, physically, emotionally and spiritually. We nurture a desire to learn, a confidence to try and a determination to continue when at first, we don’t succeed. We work hard to create an environment where children feel comfortable to question, to be creative and to develop a love of learning which will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Children are encouraged to develop both themselves and others, supporting their peers through both words and actions. As a school we value empathy, resilience and reflection. We aim to learn from our past, experience our present and prepare for our future.
‘a community of ‘brothers and sisters’ Ofsted 2024
We are absolutely delighted with our recent Ofsted inspection! The report recognises our unique, kind and nurturing community, the dedication of our inspirational staff and most importantly the happiness and progress of our pupils. We are all immensely proud of our school. The Federation of St Peter in Chains and St Gildas’ is a happy and safe place to learn, a school where everyone knows each other and where we genuinely care.
We would like to thank you for showing an interest in our school and look forward to welcoming you into our community.
