A school uniform enables children to identify with their school, gives a sense of belonging, is practical and smart, and reduces expenditure for parents/carers.

St Peter-in-Chains

Uniform is worn at the school and parents agree to support this when they accept a place for their child.

If a pupil is, for some reason, unable to wear the correct uniform on a particular day, a note / email of explanation is required and the issue should be rectified as soon as possible.

Winter Uniform:

  • Yellow polo t-shirt
  • Red school jumper or cardigan (This is a special dye colour and can only be purchased from the school, alternatives are not permitted unless there are specific medical reasons for this)
  • Grey skirt, pinafore or trousers
  • White, black, red or grey socks / tights
  • Black shoes or boots – should be school appropriate (no Uggs, Crocs or trainers)

Summer Uniform:

  • Summer dress – yellow and white check
  • White, black, red or grey socks
  • Sandals are also permitted but must be worn with socks and should be suitable for school.

P.E Uniform

Reception children:

  • Black plimsolls or black trainers only

These are to be kept at school in Drawstring PE bag (available to purchase from school office)

Y1 & Y2 children:

  • Navy blue or black shorts
  • White short sleeved t-shirt
  • Black plimsolls or black trainers

Y1 & Y2 – P.E. Kit must be worn to school on P.E. days

ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING MUST BE MARKED CLEARLY WITH THE CHILD’S NAME

Jumpers, cardigans, book bags and PE bags can be ordered via the School Office and payment made via Bank Transfer. Please contact the office for further information.

 

St Gildas’

ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING MUST BE MARKED CLEARLY WITH THE CHILD’S NAME

For health and safety reasons children are not allowed to wear jewellery in school.  This includes bracelets and necklaces and hair decorations which can be unsafe in the event of a fall or if worn during P.E.

Children are allowed to wear a small plain gold or silver stud earrings. Any other earrings will not be permitted – this includes hoops, sleepers or earrings with diamonds / stones. If children are not wearing the correct earrings parents will be contacted

A tidy hairstyle is an essential part of the uniform and long hair should be tied back. Eccentric styles such as shaved, dyed, or with patterns cut into the hair, are not acceptable. Nail varnish is not permitted.

All uniform orders are processed through St Gildas’ office. Uniform can be ordered via your child’s ParentPay account or by completing an order form and returning to admin@st-gildas.haringey.sch.uk .
