29 Nov Ancient Greek Democracy – Ostracism in Year 5
We brought Democracy in Ancient Greece alive this week in year 5.
5FM’s classroom became the agora (the market place), and five ‘criminals’ were battling it out to see who would be ostracised (exiled) from Athens for ten years.
After suberb acting, in which the accused stated their defences, Strabo, who was raising an army during a time of peace to battle the Spartans, was ostracised!
We had so much fun putting our History learning into action! A big thank you to our year 6 expert, who helped the children to write in Greek.
