In year 5 we began our new class book, ‘Mama Miti, Wangari Matthai and the Trees of Kenya’. This is a beautifully illustrated story book telling the true story of environmentalist Wangari Matthai, written by
Donna Jo Napoli and illustrated by Kadir Nelson.
We used role play and freeze frames to examine what the characters might say and feel. Here are some photos of our freeze frames.
