Shakespeare Week at St Gildas’

We have had a superb week learning about Shakespeare and studying Romeo and Juliet.  The children have studied the plot in depth, written letters in role, written a modern day playscript and explored the themes of tragedy, love and revenge.  We learned about how Shakespeare uses soliloquies as a technique for his characters to voice their thoughts to an audience and had great fun acting in class.

The week culminated in fantastic workshops delivered by Francesca from West End in Schools.  Francesca really brought the play to life in an accessible way and the children impressed us with their creative talents.
